Comic Book Boycott of the Day: Conservative group One Million Moms is at it again, directing its not-quite-a-million members to boycott Marvel and DC Comics due to recent announcements from both companies about their futures of their gay characters.

DC has revealed that a major character is soon going to come out as gay, while Marvel announced the engagement of superhero Northstar to his boyfriend, Kyle.

These events don’t sit will with One Million Moms, whose anti-gay agenda has also led them to protest the wedding of Archie Comics’ first gay character, Kevin Keller.

“Children desire to be just like superheroes,” said the group in a statement. “Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, ‘I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?’”

The statement goes on to accuse the publishers of trying to “indoctrate [sic] impressionable young minds.”

Marvel and DC have yet to respond to the homophobic comments.

I am fostering a loving dog that needs a home. I am posting everywhere because the home I found cannot keep her. She does have a loud bark she is best suited for a house, not an apartment. 

Name: Coco

 

Age: 7 months.

 

Gender: Female

 

Breed: Shepherd/Ridgeback Mix

 

Medical: Updated on all of her booster shots at Bingle Vet.

She was hit by a car and has a wompy leg that she cannot always hold her weight on. However it does not give her pain and she is very active. She loves to run and DOES NOT NEED SURGERY. I have consulted the vet and she will compensate for it as she grows older.

 

HAS BEEN DE-WORMED.

 

HAS NOT BEEN SPAYED. However, I am willing to pay for her surgery.

 

Temperament: Very sweet and quite docile when she first meets people. Will become more outgoing when she gets to know people. She does like to jump, loves attention, and will try to steal your food. However she is fairly young and can be trained.

 

House-Trained: Coco is smart and KNOWS when she needs to go to the bathroom. Our experience with her is that once she knows where she is supposed to go (in the backyard, for instance) she will go to the back door, or yelp. However this is only OUR experience, she might be different in another home.

 

Equipment: I have personally bought and supplied her with TOYS, CRATE, DOG BED, FOOD BOWL, DOG FOOD, COLLAR, HARNESS, LEASH, AND A YEAR’S SUPPLY OF COMFORTIS AND HEARTGARD.
